Back to the Mother Land . . .

As I was going through my blog reader I came up on some new updates by one of my favorite indie designers, NakiMuli. I've followed her the past few months and I am totally in love with her style. Honestly, I was never the biggest fan of tribal prints until seeing her line. I love the mish mash of bright funky colors and textures with the more traditional tribal print. It beautifully contrasts and each piece is definitely a head turner. She even offers her unique pieces in plus sizes!

Some other designers have also been inspired by these earthy prints, such as Gucci and Dries Van Noten.

It can be a bit difficult shopping for these kind of prints. Most of the times when I've seen them they've tended to look frumpy or be some hideous oversized pants suit. Luckily Torrid and Evans have been keeping up and offer a few pieces of their own. However, I don't believe that this look can only be achieved by being so literal. Lets face it, prints are great but good ones are to find since they can definitely look more tacky than chic. There are great accessories out there you can use to create this look. .I'd recommend browsing on Etsy now if not ever. There are many fabulous designers there who specialize in beading, wood, and metal pieces so you can be sure to find something that is right for you.

To create this look I found this beautiful Ombre at Macy's. Linen is great for summer, plus I couldn't resist that beautiful green gradient at the hem. Its a great dress that you can use to create looks across different seasons.
